ENLACE is as a non-regulated MFI whose mission is to contribute to improve the quality of life of microentrepreneurs by providing specialized services with presence in half of the country. ENLACE follows mainly a community credit methodology, which entails a deep social outreach.
DTA support
Develop a Digital Strategy, aligned to Corporate and Commercial strategies, that would allow ENLACE to strengthen its ability to scale and provide its clients with suitable financial services by prioritizing existing and new digital technologies, and equip staff with suitable tools to reach better levels of operational and financial performance.

Red de Instituciones Financieras de Desarrollo (RFD Ecuador), is a non-profit Civil Corporation created in 2000. The RFD groups 51 institutions among banks, cooperatives and NGOs, oriented towards microfinance, popular and solidarity finance (financial inclusion) of the country.

Provide capacity building on the design of a personalized digital strategy, including toolkit (i.e. methodology, customer journey formats) through a participatory process with selected RFD member institutions.

Digital strategy for BRAC and management empowered to make decisions on its core digital initiatives for 2019 and beyond.

Improvement of agri-loan product features and delivery process. Development of credit scoring approach for client onboarding and credit appraisal. Pilot testing.

The Small Enterprise Foundation (SEF), targeting mostly group loans to >180,000 women at the time.
DTA support
An integrated project set-up, involving all impacted departments (Operations, IT, HR & training); well-structured IT development and field testing in four pilot branches; Training-of-trainers and the roll-out plan for the mass-deployment.
Results
A smooth roll out to 500 field staff, from April until September 2019. SEF branches are eagerly awaiting to start using tablets.

NGO Stromme Foundation East Africa has organized – through local partners – about 106,000 persons into around 3,722 community based savings groups at the time, mainly in rural areas in Uganda.
DTA support
Assisting the Stromme project team in selecting the technical partner to provide the digital payments and e-recording for the groups. Promoting a human-centered product design and testing it with a small number of groups. Recommendation for Stromme on how to build a viable business model.
Results
Prototype for digital payments and e-recording (IMARA) and evaluation report of the pilot, including next steps for Stromme.

Develop a business case and a feasibility study to implement Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) as an alternative channel, on selected branches, to provide a more convenient service to its members and ensuring client adoption to optimize the ATM usage.

Feasibility study, a client awareness program and communication plan and four ATMs implemented.

Agora Microfinance Zambia (AMZ), a fast-growing microfinance institution offering group and individual loans to almost 17,000 clients at the time, and with an ambition to expand in rural zones.
DTA support
Product design for agri-lending, supported by ALES method of Frankfurt School, pilot testing, training of staff to maintain the ALES-tool.
Results
Successful pilot for 5 crops, in two branches with quality loans to almost 300 clients, further expansion planned by AMZ in 2019 onwards.
